Insitu work for Kunst&Zwalm where I tried to depict the old ‘genius loci’ of the village of Roborst.

I talked to people from the neighbourhood, and I found a lot of stories about fairs, parades and processions with giant dolls. In old photo archives from Zwalm I went looking for interesting figures and objects. Together with contemporary elements that I came across on walks, I brought them to life in a parade, as a kind of tribute to a village that is no longer.

The confessional seemed the ideal location to present this holographic work. It reminds me especially of an entresort, the boxes at the former fairs or circuses which people were allowed to peek inside for 5 francs.
